Fragments of Time
A conference on literature and culture open to all
We are pleased to invite paper and panel proposals for the interdisciplinary conference Fragments of Time', to take place on the 16th of October 2013 at Lancaster University. The call for papers is open to all postgraduates and staff members who might be interested in an interdisciplinary debate around the concept of time. Areas of exploration might include the following:

-Representing and narrating time
-culture and social change (technology, cultural renewal, stagnation, decline)
-the visionary: desires, fantasies and dreams
-rebels and reactionaries; innovation and change
-time and subjectivity
- crisis, eschatology and the messianic
-the modern, the anti-modern, the postmodern
-forgotten histories, alternative histories
-alternative worlds, alternative futures
-cultural appropriation and 'usable pasts'
-histories of the discipline, disciplining history
-genealogies, traces, hauntings
