Contact Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Limina is an online, refereed, academic journal of historical and cultural studies based in the School of Humanities at The University of Western Australia. The journal operates with a special commitment to publishing the work of postgraduates and Early Career Researchers, and encourages creative methodologies.
Limina provides a lively environment in which diverse work can be published, and promotes resistance to traditional disciplinary boundaries. At the same time it demands a rigorous approach to issues of research, context and theoretical debates.
For Volume 20, we are looking for papers of substantive and original scholarly work in the fields of historical and cultural studies which engage with topics including, but not limited to:
•genre and theoretical boundaries
Articles should be between 5000 and 8000 words in length and must conform to the Limina Style Guide.
For clarification, please see: http://www.limina.arts.uwa.edu.au/submissions/style_guide
Deadline for Submissions: 30 September 2013
Limina aims to provide the submitting postgraduate or Early Career Researcher with prompt evaluation and an efficient publication process. We adopt a double-blinded peer review process and depend on esteemed academics and professorial staff from Australia and worldwide to referee submissions.
All articles submitted to Limina are reviewed by three members of the Editorial Collective. When an article is accepted by at least two reviewers, authors are sent feedback and have roughly six weeks to submit a revised article.
Revised articles that have been accepted are then sent to peer reviewers. The Editorial Collective collates the referee's reports and recommendations and decides if the article is acceptable in its present form; suitable for publication if amended according to the referee's comments attached; unsuitable for publication in its present form but requires revision and resubmission in order to be re-refereed; or declined.
Thereafter, authors are given roughly six weeks to resubmit their article. Each article is carefully approved and copyedited by the Editorial Collective before publication.
Each year, Limina awards a prize of $100 for the best submission from any postgraduate student in Australia or New Zealand. The Iain Brash Prize is named in honour of Iain Brash, marking his great contribution to the study of History at The University of Western Australia. Limina congratulates Hannah Lili Boettcher on being awarded the Iain Brash Prize for Volume 19 for her article 'London's (Migrant) Villages within the Metropolis'.
