Chicago Conference Theme: The Roots of Modern Corporate & Business Culture in Literature
The Business, Money & Office Cultures Area of the Popular Culture and American Culture Associations invites papers exploring Literary Representations of Modern Business & Corporate Culture and the Money World. A cursory survey of modern literature--from Dickens to Sinclair Lewis to Tom Wolfe--shows American life dominated--even structured--by a single dominant strain of business and corporate culture.
We welcome proposals that explore how the narrative(s) of business and corporate culture/values play out in modern literature--including travelogues--and the relevance of these depictions to today’s global economic conditions. Submission Guidelines:
Please send an abstract of 150 to 250 words. Include your name, affiliation, correspondence address, e-mail address and telephone number. Please attach a copy of your CV with your abstract.

Contact Area Chairs: Diana Osborne (dosborne@scc.spokane.edu) or Tony Osborne (osborne@gonzaga.edu)
Deadlines:
Abstract Submission Deadline: 1 November 2013
