The Northeast Modern Language Association's 45th annual convention in April, 2014 continues the Association's tradition of generative scholarship in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This capitol city set on the Susquehanna River is known for its vibrant restaurant scene, historical sites, the National Civil War museum, and nearby Amish Country and antique shops. The 2014 event will include guest speakers, literary readings, professional events, and workshops. The convention will be held at the Hilton Harrisburg—just blocks from the river and the Amtrak station. Hotel rates will be $125 and under.
On Thursday evening, April 3rd, award-winning American writer, George Saunders, will officially open the Convention. On Friday evening, April 4th, prominent actor/director/producer, David Staller of Project Shaw/Gingold Theatrical Group in New York, will address the convention on the social activism and comic dramas of Bernard Shaw.
