Twelfth International Conference on Books, Publishing, and Libraries - 8-9 November 2014 - Boston, USA
8-9 November 2014
The Book Conference serves as an inclusive forum for examining the past, current and future role of the book. It proceeds from recognition that although the book is an old medium of expression, it embodies half a millennium's experience of recording knowledge. Its pervasive influence continues to shape newer forms of information technology, while at the same time providing a reference point for innovation.
We are inviting proposals from a wide range of interdisciplinary areas for paper presentations, workshops/interactive sessions, posters/exhibits, or colloquia. Our conference themes include: Publishing Practices: Past, Present, and Future; Reading, Writing, Literacy, and Learning; and Books and Libraries.
Proposals can be submitted through our online form and should be comprised of an overview of 30 words and an abstract of 150-200 words, along with Keyword Set, Biographical Information, etc.
Proposals are accepted and reviewed in monthly phases with a final submission deadline of 2 September 2014
The online proposal submission portal can be found on our website: http://booksandpublishing.com/submitting-your-work/conference-presentati...
Accepted proposals are invited to be submitted to The International Journal of the Book , a fully peer-reviewed journal, published through Common Ground Publishing, Urbana-Champaign, Illinois.
Graduate Scholar Awards are also given for the conference to a small number of outstanding graduate students in the field. Applications can also be found on our website under Graduate Scholar Awards
