Panel on imitations and adaptations, SCSECS 2014 in Galveston Feb 12-15
Seeking paper proposals on the subject of "Imitations and Adaptations" for my panel at the annual meeting of the South Central Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies in Galveston, TX, Feb. 12-15. If I receive more appropriate, exciting submissions than one panel can accommodate, one or more additional panels on the subject will be created. SCSECS is a regional affiliate of ASECS, the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies.
The deadline is NOVEMBER 30, though that may be extended.
Our conference hotel, Tremont House, is walking distance from the beach and local attractions. Galveston's warm and gentle seaside climate is bound to be a welcome change for most of us who will be in the grip of chilly winter weather. Further details can be found on our website: http://www.scsecs.net/
All disciplines are welcomed. Most SCSECS members specialize in language and literature, but we are always interested in branching out. We love papers on music, food, science, the evolution of hot air balloons... The only limitation is that the focus is on the "long" eighteenth century (1660-1830).
