For a guest-edited issue of The Edgar Allan Poe Review, we invite essays that
-explore why Poe’s work has drawn so much musical attention, and/or why it seems to lend itself so readily to all manner of musical expression,
- explore musical tie-ins to Poe themes, the psychological Gothic, the sublime, the uncanny, Poe’s biography, or particular Poe genres,
-make close readings of specific musical adaptations, though these should be written for general readers,
-analyze individual works by Poe as they have been adapted in a specific musical genre, or in a variety of genres,
-explore and re-theorize dimensions of Poe’s own musicality in poetry and prose.

Papers and Inquiries should be sent to Dennis R. Perry at dperry@byu.edu by September 1, 2014.
