Call for Paper: Christian Pilgrimage to the Holy Land (1291-1517)
CALL FOR PAPERS:
CHRISTIAN PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND (1291-1517)
"Nuova Rivista Storica" invites scholars to submit abstracts for a monographic volume dedicated to European Christian Pilgrimage to the Holy Land, from the fall of Acre to the end of the Mamluk Empire. Articles may explore history of Economics (eg. comparison and evolution of admittance fees to the Holy Sepulchre or other holy places in XIV and XV Centuries); history of Politics and Law (eg Administrative Law as depicted in pilgrim's texts; how treaties binding European Countries and the Sultan dealt with pilgrims); history of Devotion and Liturgy; philological analysis of pilgrimage's text, etc. Priority will be given to contributions not limited to the analysis of a single source, but facing topics in a transversal way, using texts serially, and that will use more scopes sources (Arabic, Coptic Orthodox, Georgian, Hebrew, etc..) to focus and integrate the Westerners evidences.
To ensure the widest possible dissemination of the articles they will be accepted in Italian, English, French, Spanish and German.

Article drafts, no more than 20.000 words long, must arrive no later than December 31st, 2014.
