Many studies have been conducted on the experiences of immigrants from Latin America and the Caribbean; however, there are few texts which study the full scope of literature born of and about this large segment of the population. My book, Voices in Transition: A Study of Pan-American Immigration Narratives, will investigate the ways in which authors of fiction have addressed the psychological, economic and cultural issues faced by immigrants in their work. Topics may include trauma/violence, human rights and gender.

Here are a few potential sections of the text:
Section One: Trauma and Violence in the Pan-American Immigration Narrative
Section Two: Mothers and Children in the Pan-American Immigration Narrative
Section Three: The Fusion of Science Fiction and Pan-American Immigration Narratives
Section Four: Pan-American Immigration Narratives as Political Commentary
Section Five: Clashing Cultures in Pan-American Immigration Narratives
