How does an edition function as a site of memory? For MLA 2015 in Vancouver, the Association for Documentary Editing (ADE) invites presentations in keeping with the conference's Presidential theme, "Negotiating Sites of Memory." Send 300-word abstract and short CV by 15 March to Carol DeBoer-Langworthy, CDBL@Brown.edu. Panelists must be MLA members by 1 April.

Any edition is a new construction, made according to one or another standard, of abstract verbal works (critical editions) or of physical documents (documentary editions). In what ways, or to extent, is it possible for an edition to convey or embody a "site of memory" present in the original works or documents? Inquiries about the ADE session, "Editions as Sites of Memory" may be made to DeBoer-Langworthy (CDBL@Brown.edu), David Vander Meulen (dlv8g@eservices.virginia.edu) or Brandi So (brandi.so@stonybrook.edu).
