--- 3-Year-Scholarship: Doctoral, Post-Doctoral Research in Comparative Literature ---

The Cusanuswerk is the scholarship body of the Catholic Church in Germany and awards government scholarships to exceptionally gifted students and researchers in all branches of academic study. For more information, please visit www.cusanuswerk.org

With this Call for Papers, the foundation invites senior MA-students; PhD-candidates and Post-Doctoral researchers to submit yet unfunded PHD-projects or Post-Doctoral-Projects dealing with topics of contemporary literary theory and/or contemporary interpretations of literary texts from a comparative point of view.

This scholarship program aims to support a wide range of themes that are relevant to the philosophy of literature, for literary criticism and theory, and for actual readings of literary texts that utilize contemporary literary theories.

The aim is to re-consider the gap between "theoretical" and "practical" approaches to (the theory of) literary interpretation, and to support outstanding talents with high career potentials in the academic field of the humanities.

As of late spring 2014, the Cusanuswerk will award 3 PhD-scholarships and 3 Post-Doctoral scholarships for a period of 36 month. The scholarship consists of a monthly allowance of 1.200 Euro, the funding of activities related to the project, participation in conferences and workshops, publication support.

Please send a detailed project proposal (incl. timetable) and a complete CV to scholarship_littheo@cusanuswerk.org. Final candidates may be required to send additional documents upon request.

Submissions will be considered as they arrive (procedure: blind peer-review), and consideration will continue until April 15, 2014.
