Call for Submissions: Issue 2

A new humanities journal is accepting submissions for articles on literature, culture, or politics for its second issue. We will accept abstracts or full essays, but we are looking for articles that will be ready for our May/June issue.

Please send your articles or abstracts to editorsustnu@gmail.com.

We would like to straddle the line between academic and non-academic scholarship. In other words, we value accessibility and brevity over hyper-specialized tomes of micro-research. All we ask of our submissions is that they are: 1) interesting 2) well-written 3) concise 4) pertain to any branch of research or concern in the humanities. This is an excellent opportunity to get down that great idea in 4,000 words or less and have it published, or to put that section of your dissertation in the public domain. At the same time, even though we encourage a relaxed approach to scholarship, we receive a great deal of submissions and our selection process is very competitive.

Although we will consider any papers which follow the above mentioned specifications, we are particularly interested in papers which fall somewhere near the following rubrics:

 Digital Humanities
 Poetics
 Contemporary and Popular Culture
 Representation
 Song-writing/Rap as Poetry
 Cultural Studies
 American Literature
 Subcultures
 Marxism
 Psychoanalysis
 Semiotics
 Aesthetic Philosophy
 Cognitive Poetics
 Media Theory
 Film
 Posthumanism
 The Crime Novel/Genre

We will accept submissions on a rolling basis, but we would encourage submissions for the upcoming issue by April 15, 2014. Please send your articles or abstracts to editorsustnu@gmail.com.
