Poetry Studies & Creative Poetry at PCA/ACA in New Orleans - April 1-4, 2015
PCA/ACA - Poetry Studies & Creative Poetry
The Poetry Studies & Creative Poetry Area of the Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association invites proposals from two kinds of panelists: those reading original poetry and those delivering short papers on some aspect of American poetry.
Creative Poetry: Panelists will have 15 minutes each to read/perform their own work. There will be time at the end of the session for interaction with the audience. Those interested in presenting should send 3 sample poems along with an abstract in the online system.
Poetry Studies: This area includes papers on American poets or poetry. Subject matter is open. Discussions of poetry as it relates to popular culture are especially welcome. Panelists will be given 15 minutes each, and the session will end with a brief question and answer period.
The deadline for online submission of proposals will be November 1, 2014. Do not email your abstract. Only proposals submitted to the online system will be considered: http://pcaaca.org/national-conference/proposing-a-presentation-at-the-co...
Online submission instructions: Register or log in. Select a subject area. Enter your proposal's title, abstract of no more than 250 words (along with an attachment of 3 sample poems in 1 document for creative proposals) and a short bio of no more than 50 words. Please proofread your name, affiliation, title, and abstract closely as this text will become part of the program if your proposal is selected. Submit only one proposal to one area. You may not submit the same proposal to multiple areas. [Exception: Those who submit a proposal of creative work may also submit a paper proposal to this area or to another subject area.]
