Graduate Conference in Language and Literature 2006,
University of Louisiana (Lafayette)

The theme for 2006 is Reading Culture: Text and
Community at the Crossroads.
Where do textual worlds and the world as text
We welcome papers in all areas of English, including
but not limited to folklore, literature (all areas and
periods), literary theory and criticism,linguistics,
rhetoric, and pedagogy. Creative writing submissions
and panel submissions will also be considered. The
keynote speaker will be American Folklore Society
Fellow, Fulbright Distinguished Scholar and Alcee
Fortier Award winner Carl Lindahl of the University of
Houston, author of Swapping Stories: Folktales from
