Due to an increased workload, as well as other logistics and an
international move by the editor, "Graduating Gender: Queer Grad Students
Reading Culture" will remain open to new submissions until Oct 20, 2007. I
am still passionately committed to producing this collection, but it simply
needs more time. The volume, as I have said in other posts, will examine
the unique work of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and queer (or
genderQueer) grad students, looking especially at how this work is
produced--either in cooperation or under duress--within a largely
heterosexual and heteronormative academy.

Submissions might include:

- LGBT grad student advocacy and presence within the academy
- graduate instructors teaching queer classes
- queer dissertations and m.a. projects (excerpts from/discussions of)
- creative and critical pieces
- multimedia essays

as well as

- cultural studies work undertaken as a grad student
- literary essays on queer texts (or non-queer texts with a 'queer spin')
- work in women's studies, cinema, television studies, anthropology, and

The call is broad, and I am always willing to accommodate something new,
strange, or queer in the wildest and most interesting sense.

Publisher information will be forthcoming, but I am approaching two
university presses, and I anticipate strong interest.
