/Eighteenth-Century Fiction/, an international quarterly published in French and
English devoted to the critical and historical investigation of imaginative
prose of the period 1660-1832.

Death/La Mort
We invite submissions to a special issue on death in the eighteenth century
(Fall 2008). Possible topics may include but are not confined to: the aesthetics
of death; narrative and death; mourning and commemoration; historiography and
the national dead; sexuality and death; ghosts and the afterlife; corpses,
anatomies, and specimens; elegies and epitaphs; executions; decay and ruins;
wills, funerals, and wakes. We welcome articles that treat the topic in areas
outside of imaginative prose fiction proper. MSS should reach the ECF office by
30 July 2007. E-mail submissions are welcome <ecf_at_mcmaster.ca>.

La Rédaction sollicite des articles pour un numéro spécial consacré à la mort au
dix-huitième siècle (parution: automne 2008). Ce numéro est ouvert à la
discussion de toutes les représentations de la mort et ne se limite pas à ses
représentations dans la fiction narrative. Ainsi, des articles portant sur:
l'esthétique de la mort; le narratif et la mort; le deuil et le commémoration;
l'historiographie et les morts de figures nationales, patriotiques, etc.;
l'érotisme et la mort; l'eschatologie, l'au-delà de la mort (fantômes,
revenants, etc.); les cadavres et les représentations d'anatomies; les élégies
et les épitaphes; les exécutions; la pourriture, la délabrement et les ruines;
les testaments, les obsèques et les veillées funèbres. Les manuscrits doivent
parvenir à la rédaction avant le 30 juillet 2007. Nous acceptons les envois
électroniques.
