18th Annual EGSA Mardi Gras Conference
Louisiana State University
January 30- February 1
Keynote Speaker: Cathy Davidson

“Aesthetics of the Long Eighteenth Century”
The 18th Annual EGSA Mardi Gras Conference invites papers for the proposed
panel,
“Aesthetics of the Long Eighteenth Century.” 15 minute papers should
consider this era—prolific in its aesthetic theory—as we work to redefine
the aesthetics of literary theory. Papers should comment on 18th century
aesthetics with an eye towards contemporary aesthetic theory, finding
perhaps solid roots for current aesthetic trends, significant deviations
from those beginnings, or simply re-establishing the relevance of
traditional aesthetic theory for current literary studies.
