Dear Colleagues:

I am writing to invite contributions to the Hispanic American Literature Volume.

This encyclopedia will be a stand-alone book and will be published by Facts on File in 2007.
The volume is complete with the exception of a few entries. I am looking for contributors for the remaining articles below.

The essays must appear in this volume for the first time in print and cannot be submitted simultaneously or afterward to another publisher.

Facts on File is a New York publisher of reference books for high school and college students (www.factsonfile.com).

Entries are due March 15, 2007 and are peer reviewed (I have a peer review email list for contributors to use).

Each essay should be written in a clear and accessible (jargon free) style and amount to 600-1000 words. High school students and college students are the primary audiences.

Please send an email to ramirez_at_csusb.edu with the following information:
The entries you can complete by March 7, 2006 (no more than 2 per contributor, please).

Please note that entries will consist of biographical overviews as well as analyses of individual works. If you choose an author, then please be aware that other contributors may write about specific works.

Once proposals are received and assessed, I will send out assignments, sample entries, guidelines, and contracts. Preference will be given to those who can send in their entries early, before the deadline.
