CFP: Native American Literary Nationalism (2/23/07; (dis)junctions, 4/6/07-4/7/07)
(dis)junctions 2007: Malappropriation Nation Graduate Conference
Papers (15-20 minutes) on Native American Literary Nationalism are invited
for the (dis)junctions 2007: Malappropriation Nation graduate conference,
April 6-7, 2007 at the University of California, Riverside. Papers sought
should consider Native American/American Indian literary nationalism as it
has been recently conceived by Jace Weaver, Craig Womack, and Robert Allen
Warrior in their recent publication, American Indian Literary Nationalism.
While papers may certainly engage other critical Native theorists, the
primary goal of this panel is to discuss the theoretical contours of
literary nationalism, as well as a way to consider written narratives, oral
narratives, performance, and/or/as well as visual culture.
