re: 'Studies in European Cinema'

We are pleased to announce the launch of the new refereed
international journal 'Studies in European Cinema' (Intellect) in 2004.

This journal is dedicated to the best work currently being produced on
European Film, European film culture, the changing nature and film output
of Europe itself. It is distinctive in bringing together discussions on a
range of European cinemas, and by the timing and positioning of the
discussions within both a cultural and an historical context.

Areas of interest include:

* All aspects of European film and European film culture;

* The history, genre, films, film directors (or actors, cinematographers,
film crew/s . . .) of Europe;

* The identities, languages, styles, forms and audiences of European
cinema;

*European cinema in the context of other cinemas (eg: Hollywood, 'World'
cinema . . .)

The aim of this journal is to provide a forum for all those interested in
European cinema and the film cultures of Europe and to bring together
experts from a variety of fields in order to facilitate interdisciplinary
exchange. Unique in its willingness to engage with all the cinemas of
Europe, the journal provides an international platform for discussion.

We would welcome article submissions on any aspects of European
cinema and European film culture for consideration for the first and/or
subsequent volumes. Articles should be no longer than 5,000 words in length
(excluding notes) and include an abstract of 150-200 words.

A full style sheet is available from the editors, and we would ask
contributors to contact us for these guidelines before submitting
work.
