CFP: SCMLA 2009 Flannery O’Connor Society Session

Submissions are currently being accepted for the Flannery O’Connor Society
session of the 66th annual South Central Modern Language Association
conference, October 29th through the 31st in Baton Rouge, LA.

This session welcomes all papers on O’Connor that incorporate the
conference theme of “Continuity and Displacements,” but papers that draw
comparisons between O’Connor’s work and the work of another writer or
artist from any era are highly encouraged. Specifically, papers focused on
pairings between O’Connor and cultural producers outside the circle of
usual suspects (i.e., those associated with Southern Gothic literature,
etc.) are of particular interest, but all proposals are invited and will be
