The Jewish Studies Area of the Popular Culture Association is organizing at=20
least one panel on specifically evaluating Stephen Spielberg for the 2007=20
conference of the ACA/PCA in Boston, Massachusetts, April 4-7, 2007.
Stephen Spielberg is one of the most powerful and most influential directors=
in Hollywood today. His filmography includes Jaws, Close Encounters of the=20
Third Kind, the Indiana Jones films, his Academy Award winning film Schindle=
List, and Saving Private Ryan. He has worked with many of the best creative=
people in the film industry including actors Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss,=
Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley, Liam Neeson, and Tom Hanks; almost exclusively=20=
film score composer John Williams; and writer/producer/director George Lucas=
 In addition to his commercial film work, he founded The Shoah Foundation,=20
which works toward collecting the personal remembrances of Holocaust survivo=
Presentation proposals should examine the impact Stephen Spielberg has had o=
filmmaking, the film industry, Holocaust remembrance, and honoring World War=
II veterans and their memories. =20
Proposals should be approximately 250 words in length and must include your=20
mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
All proposals should be emailed to both the Area Chair and Associate Area=20
