CFP: Films of Edgar G. Ulmer (no deadline; collection)
CFP: The Films of Edgar G. Ulmer
Few filmmakers created as unique a body of work in the United States
as Edgar G. Ulmer. All too little has been published on his work,
especially on films other than The Black Cat (1934) and Detour (1945).
We are currently soliciting abstracts of 250 words for essays to be
included in a proposed anthology on Ulmer's work. Essays may focus on
individual films or themes/topics that examine several films. We will
also consider essays that examine Ulmer's biography/mystique.
Essays included in the anthology will be of approximately 6,000 to
8,000 words, referenced in MLA endnote style. One scholarly press has
already committed to publishing this work, though we are currently
exploring various options.
