Papers invited for the Moves: Choreography on the Screen conference to be held at Manchester
Metropolitan University. Paper are invited for any area of discussion on anything that contains a
choreographic intention, ideas could be:

Interpretation of choreography on screen
History of choreography on screen
Martial Arts
Choreography in digital environments
Forms of choreography
Choreographic intention
Choreography and artists film
Stage to screen performance
Elements to dance and performance film
Dance and the screen
Film and video for archival of dance
Narrative analysis
Choreography on screen versus off screen
Complimentary to stage movement
Recorded choreography and dance
Choreography constructed for the screen
Live environments
Approaches on production
Camera movement and editing as choreographed work

Invites are also sought for panels, round table discussions and workshops.

Moves will explore all formats of screen image from cinema screens and public spaces, small screen,
computer screen and digital environments.

The conference will take place within the School of Art History and MIRIAD at Manchester
Metropolitan University in the centre of Manchester and runs in conjunction with the 3rd Annual
Moves Festival of Screen Choreography taking place in Manchester from the 14th June 2007.

Please send 300 word abstracts for 20-minute papers to p.d.booth_at_mmu.ac.uk by the 1st June 2007.

This conference is free for all delegates presenting papers. In addition, passes can be purchased
that will allow admittance to the Moves Screen Festival.
