Call for Papers: Film Area: Film Adaptation.

Southwest/Texas Popular Culture/American Culture Association 29th Annual
Conference, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Join us February 13-16, 2008, at
The Hyatt Regency Conference Hotel, downtown Albuquerque.

We welcome any aspect of film adaptation studies; prospective topics
include:

FILM ADAPTATION:
*adaptation theory
*novel to film adaptation
*film to film adaptation
*stage to screen adaptation (excluding Shakespeare)
*video games, songs, cartoons, and even Disney rides to film adaptation

SPECIAL TOPICS INCLUDE:
*Broadway Musical Adaptations (Hairspray, Dreamgirls)
*Graphic Novel Adaptations (300, Sin City, A History of Violence, V for
Vendetta, Batman: Year One as Batman Begins)
*Comic Book Adaptations (Fantastic Four, Superman, Spiderman)
*International Adaptations (The Departed/Infernal Affairs)

Conference Rates: Professionals, $140; Graduate students $120; Spouse,
partner $50
