18th Annual EGSA Mardi Gras Conference
Louisiana State University
January 30- February 1
Keynote Speaker: Cathy Davidson

“Pop Culture and Its Mediums”
The 18th annual Mardi Gras Conference invites papers for the proposed
panel, “Pop Culture and Its Mediums.” We are seeking 15 minute papers that
explore the history of pop culture and the mediums with which it is
produced, and the effects of changes in mediums on pop culture and the
viewer/reader. With phenomena such as YouTube and MySpace that
continuously create celebrity figures and bands like Radiohead giving away
their music virtually free of charge, we are especially interested in
approaches that consider the effects of the internet and digital media on
pop culture and its reception.

Please send 250 word abstracts to: egsaconference_at_gmail.com
