Theatre in Film/Theatre on Film: The Adaptation of Drama into Film

This session will explore the nuances and complexities of the
intersections of drama and film. Though both visual representations of
what can be interpreted as literary texts, drama and film share certain
visual and narrative qualities involving acting, art direction/staging,
dialogue, There are many ways to approach this topic and all are
welcome, including analysis of plays staged on film, of filmic
representations of drama, and of playwrights—including Shakespeare,
Williams, and Mamet—whose work has lent itself to film most prolifically.
Please send 250-word abstracts to Marlisa Santos, Nova Southeastern
