Since 2014 TEXTS: Literary and Cultural Studies Conference has been a venue for the examination of various “texts” of English-speaking countries and stimulating scientific debates. Our conferences promote the development and dissemination of original research and critical thinking about various social, cultural, philosophical and historical issues reflected in countless "texts" of English-speaking countries.

You are cordially invited to submit an abstract (150 words) along with a short academic bio. Conference papers (15-minute presentations) should be in English.

Moveable Type is the graduate, peer-reviewed journal of the University College London (UCL) English Department. The theme for this year's journal is 'Promise'. We welcome all academic articles; book, art, music or film reviews; creative writing; and original art or film which respond to this year's theme.

estrema: revista interdisciplinar de humanidades, a digital peer reviewed journal from the Centre for Comparative Studies of the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon (CEComp-FLUL), is issuing an open call for articles and critical reviews for the first number of its Volume III until March 31, 2024. The previous volume, consisting of two distinct issues, welcomed contributions that broadly discussed the dichotomy of light/shadow, through an interdisciplinary, comparative, and innovative perspective. Similarly, we now launch this call inspired by a new thematic dichotomy: life/death.

Critical Plant Studies, a book series published by Lexington Books, an imprint of Rowman & Littlefield, calls us to re-examine in fundamental ways our understanding of and engagement with plants, drawing on diverse disciplinary perspectives. A sampling of topics appropriate for this series includes but is not limited to:
• Representations of plants in literature, art, film, and popular culture
• Relationships between humans and plants
• Boundaries and distinctions between plants and animals

Call for Presentations – The Solarpunk Conference 2024: Rays of Resilience

Solarpunk is a growing subculture, existing across various veins of human endeavors, such as fiction, media, politics, technology, agriculture and urban planning and development. Solarpunk imagines an accessible, equitable world either without systemic barriers, or with those barriers in the process of disassembly, while championing intersectional social and climate justice. Drawing on ideas from permaculture, post- and trans-humanism, social ecology, and anarcho-socialism, while reacting against late stage capitalism, Solarpunk declares that our world is worth saving, and that saving it is possible.

We are pleased to announce the call for papers for an upcoming edited book entitled “Violence

and Postcolonial Marginalities in South Asian Literature” to be published in Lexington Books,

Rowman & Littlefield, U.S.A. This edited book aims to explore the intricate intersections of

violence and marginality within the context of South Asian literature.

Postcolonial literature, with its diverse voices and narratives, has been instrumental in

articulating the complex realities of societies grappling with the repercussions of colonialism
