CFP: Technical Communication Session at SCMLA 2006
We are asking that 500 word abstracts be written about any topic concerning Technical Communication. Even though we are accepting any topic involving Technical Communication, we would especially like to have proposals concerning International Technical Communication in order to fit the theme of the conference. Some topics ideas include: teaching ITC, translation, cross cultural communication and experiences, and/or research.
SCMLA Conference will be in Fort Worth, Texas October 26-28, 2006.
Graduate Students are encouraged to submit.

DoubleTree Resort Hotel at Reid Park in Tucson, Arizona.
Grounded in traditional Navajo oral tradition and storytelling, the
poetry of Luci Tapahonso celebrates the complex interrelationships
between words, memory and the vast and beautiful landscape of the
American Southwest. Through her work published in A Breeze Swept
Through (1987), Sáanii Dahataal: The Women Are Singing (1993) and Blue
Horses Rush In (1997) she has bridged the gap between traditional Diné
oral tradition and modern poetic form.

Essays sought for a new book collection focusing on the ways in which =
representations of space change in British prose fiction from the =
seventeenth to the nineteenth century. Interested authors should discuss =
how historical forces, such as colonialism, slavery, industrialization, =
or urbanization, impact the imaginary "space" of the novel and nation, =
as well as how varying constructs of identity and/or experience (e.g. of =
race, religion, class, gender, or global location) influence these newly =
emerging forms of narrative imagination or "novel geographies."
