Call for Papers: Novel Geographies: Space and the British Novel, =
1660-1900

Essays sought for a new book collection focusing on the ways in which =
representations of space change in British prose fiction from the =
seventeenth to the nineteenth century. Interested authors should discuss =
how historical forces, such as colonialism, slavery, industrialization, =
or urbanization, impact the imaginary "space" of the novel and nation, =
as well as how varying constructs of identity and/or experience (e.g. of =
race, religion, class, gender, or global location) influence these newly =
emerging forms of narrative imagination or "novel geographies."

Additional CFP's are solicited concerning Family Systems Theory for a
special track at MCLLM on March 31 - April 1, 2006.

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Midwestern Conference on Literature, Language, and Media (MCLLM)
is hosting its annual graduate student conference on March 31 and
April 1, 2006. The conference will be held at Northern Illinois
University in DeKalb, Illinois. First-time conference presenters are
encouraged to apply!

Proposals are solicited for papers that explore recent fiction by Alice
Munro, with a feminist focus. Studies of female ageing process, sense
of loss, and/or death are especially welcome. 500-word proposals by

2006. The tentative title of the special issue is "Social Critique,
Socialism, and Science Fiction." We are looking for essays that address

pertaining to gender, race, class, ethnicity, etc.), and science
fiction, or between Socialist / Marxist perspectives and science

the objective of digitizing the corpus of Dutch love emblems (for more

November 6 and 7 2006. The focus of this conference will be on the two
central topics of the EPU: the Dutch love emblem and the emblem
digitization process.
