  "The New Criticism: Formalist Literary Theory and Practice in America."

Paper proposals sought for an approved special-session panel on American
New Criticism. Proposals may address issues ranging from the theory and
practice of American formalist critics to the history and impact of
formalism in higher education. (Proposals that address movements and
authors beyond the panel's American context may also be considered.)

The Society for Reformation Research (SRR:

a North American scholarly organization and
partner group to the Verein für
Reformationgeschichte, is concerned with
furthering scholarly research on the Protestant
and Catholic Reformations and all other aspects
of religious life in the early modern era.
Following our mandate, we will sponsor a variety
of sessions at the 2007 annual meeting of the
Sixteenth Century Studies Conference held in
Minneapolis, Minnesota (USA), from October 24-28 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Call for submissions for the Sympo(e)sium at the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association (RMMLA)conference in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, October 4-6, 2007. We are looking for papers that deal with any aspect of Edgar Allan Poe's work or his influence on writers and artists of any period or national literature. Special session at MLA 2007 (27-30 December, Chicago).

Soliciting papers treating Miller's play and/or adaptations of it, especially
Robert Ward's opera. While I will consider any proposal, I would especially
like to consider papers treating issues of textual problematics across
adaptations, the performance of allegory, Miller's historiography, or the
relationship between politics, history, and theatre/performance.
