MartianusCapella.com, a new online metajournal, is calling for papers in all
disciplines. The site's purpose is to promote cross disciplinary research, open
discussion and synthesis, as well as to provide an easy way to search through
multiple documents for specific keywords and topics. Even though we have just
opened the site, and only recently issued our first call for papers,
MartianusCapella.com has already had more than 4000 visitors.

Further to our earlier alert call: a new international database has now been
established for the major three year international encyclopedia research and
development project, which will produce a comprehensive text on the use and
history of sound in film, TV and multi-media.

This is an updated call, alerting possible writers to the establishment of
the database, and is relevant to all persons with an interest in suggesting
topic areas, and/or who might be interested in writing on specific subjects,
and/or who have a strong research and/or practice based interest in this
field.

full-range of Humanities. Though the title implies a Southern flavor,
the journal welcomes essays on all disciplines and all cultures. In
recent years, we have published essays on film, art, culture, religion,
philosophy, history, and literature. Humanities in the South is
distributed to nearly 200 writers and scholars, plus over 25 libraries,
including Yale, Harvard, Princeton, UNC, Vanderbilt, and Rice.

Deadlines for the 2001 issues are: December 1 for Spring and May 1 for
