Call for Papers

The International Digital Media and Arts Association and Miami University's
Center for Interactive Media Studies presents the 2006 iDMAa + IMS
Conference. The conference's theme is built around an examination of the many
codes that drive the digital media and arts world. The Conference will bring
academics, artists, and industry representatives together to help define,
refine and advance the leading edge of new media. This is the third annual
iDMAa Conference and fifth annual IMS Conference.

Student Essay Contest

The Mid-Atlantic Women's Studies Association is pleased to announce The
Fifth Annual Student Prize for Scholarly Excellence in Women's Studies.

Two awards, underwritten by the Mid-Atlantic Women's Studies Association,
are given annually to one undergraduate and one graduate student who submit
the best previously unpublished essays on any aspect of women's studies
scholarship. In addition to receiving cash awards of fifty dollars, the
writers of the winning essays are invited to deliver a presentation based on
their essays at the Women of Color and Allies Conference in Philadelphia,
March 18, 2006.

The Association for the Study of Ethnicity and Nationalism (ASEN) is
holding its 16th Annual Conference, entitled "Nations and their Pasts:
Representing the Past, Building the Future", on Tuesday and Wednesday,
March 28-29, 2006, at the London School of Economics.=20

CFP: Northern English Religious Writers Conference (abstract deadline =
12/1/05; conference dates 06/30/06-07/01/06)

This conference represents the first full-scale opportunity to examine =
the production and circulation of religious texts within the northern =
counties of England between 1100-1500. In recent years critical =
attention has focused on the role played by works by the Yorkshire =
hermit Richard Rolle (c. 1300-49) in revitalising lay spirituality. This =
interdisciplinary event widens the scope of the investigation to =
consider genres as diverse as drama and hagiography, which offer insight =
into religious devotion and practices in the region.
