Special issue of Genre: Forms of Discourse and Culture

CFP: Mark Twain reference book (no deadline; book)

Facts On File, a New York publisher of reference works for schools and
libraries, is seeking a contributor to write essays on 30 of the most
important works of Mark Twain. These essays should be critical introductions
appropriate for both high school and college students. The essays must be
completed within at least 3 months; this deadline is extremely important.
The ideal contributor will be an expert on a wide range of Mark Twain's
works and have the ability to write clearly for students and general

Contributors sought to write entries on poets and topics for the
forthcoming Companion to Twentieth Century British Poetry, a reference
book for high school and college students. The book involves about 400
entries, varying in length from 300-2000 words per entry, to be done
over the next year and a half. All entries will carry the author's
name.If you are interested in writing for this book or would like to see

Woody Allen after 1990

Woody Allen is one of America's most notable filmmakers. Much of the
scholarly work on him, though, concentrates on his films up to 1990. This
special issue of Post Script: Essays in Film and the Humanities will focus
on Allen and his filmmaking after 1990. Contributors are encouraged to
submit papers dealing with any cinematic aspect from this period in Allen's
career. Possible topics could include, but are certainly not limited to:

Linton Kwesi Johnson, David Norbrook, Tom Paulin, Deryn Rees-Jones, Jo
Shapcott, and the Norton keynote speaker, Adrienne Rich.

Papers are invited which consider the theme of politics in relation to
poetry from classical antiquity to the contemporary. The following list
suggests some possible areas for development, but proposals in any area
relating to the conference theme of poetry and politics will be
welcome:

Contributors are needed to write short essays on topics related to
Native American Literature.

The essays are for a volume entitled The Encyclopedia of Native
