Call For Submissions
Extensions invites submissions for its forthcoming
issue: TempoRealities of Performance. We welcome
scholarly essays, experimental writing, interviews,
reviews, media/Web-based art works/projects, and
documentation of music, dance, visual, sound, and
performance art that interrogate the relationship of
temporality to performance.
Time, particularly "the present," has been configured
as the ontological force field that grounds
performance. Yet, the present as a temporal category,
and presence as material proof of that time, is being
challenged on many fronts. For example, how have the

The Fourth Annual Storytellers of the Americas
Conference will honor the life and work of John C.
Mohawk through storytelling and through academic
papers relating to the many and varied fields in which
Dr. Mohawk worked throughout his life.
John Mohawk told stories. Whether in a classroom, a
board meeting, or a deposition, John Mohawk told a
story to help his listeners see the shape of the issue
at hand.
The College English Association Caribbean Chapter is putting together a
collection of essays on the theme of its Spring 2007 conference, "Of Mice
and Men: Animals in Human Signification." To supplement the papers presented
at the conference we are seeking additional papers that address human views
of non-human animals in literature and the media as well as in other
channels and modes of human representation. We are particularly interested
in papers that address the following topics:

Special Session: Objections to Objects=0D=0A=0D=0AAs indicated by the =
topic of the 2007 ICR conference, Romantic Objects, objects were very =
important in the post-Enlightenment era, advances in science, technolo=
gy and psychology yielding a greater focus on material culture, includ=
ing objects like the body, goals and pursuits in this world, nationali=
sm and the like. Still, there were those who, like Blake, believed tha=
t "Corporeal Friends are Spiritual Enemies," and therefore objected to=
what they considered to be a misplaced emphasis on objects. In their =
defense, I am soliciting papers for what might be viewed as an antithe=
