  We invite abstracts for papers, roundtable discussions, and presentation/lectures on any topic related to engineering and its representation in the works of novelist and futurist Robert A. Heinlein.
   
  Various types of engineering, especially aerospace engineering, appear in nearly all of Heinlein's novels and short stories, often in detail. Heinlein was able to present engineering principles and theories in such a way that they were understandable for the average reader.

colonial and postcolonial; Shakespeare and modern formalism; and the nature
of Shakespearean influence.

This is an open session on integral studies and integral theory broadly
defined. Topics may include:

Intersections among integral theory, critical theory, and cultural theory;

Integral approaches to culture, politics, gender, and/or subjectivity;

Historical approaches to integral practice and thought;

Critique of integralism specifically or new age culture generally.

CFP: Narratives of Recycle and Repair (05/01/07; SUS,
10/04/07-10/07/07)

Paper proposals for the 2007 Society for Utopian Studies meeting in
Toronto that investigate narratives of recycle/repair in a variety of
cultural productions -- topics welcome in aesthetic theory, narratives
of history, utopic literatures, and film/media studies. Of particular
interest are interdisciplinary papers that link aesthetics to politics.

This proposed panel for the Modernist Studies Association annual
conference in Long Beach (Nov 1-4, 2007) seeks papers on H.D. and other
modernist women writers who "traveled" literary culture with her, or who
later used H.D. as a site of embarkation for their modernist projects.
Modernism was a literary "voyage out" from the literary limitations of
the past, but for women writers the voyage was, and continues to be, one
through stormy seas. Topics might include, but are not limited to:
