Previously unpublished critical essays are being sought for a new volume in Rodopi Press's Dialogue series on Flannery O'Connor's Wise Blood. The "Dialogue" series offers emerging and experienced scholars the opportunity to present alternative (point/counterpoint) readings and approaches to classic texts that have received canonical acceptance in either American or Continental literature.

Transverse, a graduate literary journal of the Centre for Comparative
Literature at the University of Toronto, invites submissions of
essays, literary reviews, and creative writing (short stories, poetry,
short plays) for the next issue, to be published in Spring 2007.

Trauma Narratives
 
This call for papers is for a proposed panel to be
held at (dis)junctions 2007: Malappropriation Nation
at the University of California Riverside's 14th
Annual Humanities Graduate Conference on April 6-7,
2007.

Contributors are invited to submit critical works on
traumatic narratives. Papers may examine any aspect
of trauma narratives, including specific texts and/or
critical and cultural frameworks for such texts. How
are traumatic events articulated in our current
cultural moment? How do cultural understandings of
trauma effect understandings of self? How do trauma
narratives influence and change notions of healing?

Other potential topics include:

*AL-ANDALUS AND ITS LEGACIES. **Comparative Literature Studies *invites
submissions for a special issue guest-edited by Esperanza Alfonso
(Universidad Complutense-Madrid) and Ross Brann (Cornell University). In the
region of Iberia that was under Islamic control from the eighth to the
thirteenth century, Hebrew and Romance literatures burgeoned alongside
Arabic and created the distinctive hybrid culture invoked in the name *
al-Andalus*. *CLS *seeks papers that explore literary interactions and
influences between cultures and languages in the aforementioned period,
papers that reveal the legacy of this hybrid culture for later literary

there is a dearth of high quality critical material on it. Therefore we

like to present Poststructuralist / Postmodernist perspective on Indian
Writing in English.
