We invite papers on ANGLOPHONE LITERATURE for the 38th annual meeting of the CEA. Works in English from non-English speaking cultures, not translations, are welcome. There is no restriction on the culture from which the writer is selected.

Proposals should be submitted via the online database at
http://english.ttu.edu/cea/conftool by November 30th.

The University of South Dakota announces the return of its Women¹s Research
Conference, formerly held from 1984 to 1996. In hosting the USD Women¹s
Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity Conference, 2007, we recognize
the continued engagement of scholars and artists in areas of crucial
importance to women¹s well-being, advancement, and survival, and we seek to
affirm the inextricability of women¹s decisions from the diverse communities
of family, work, and play in which such decisions get made.
 

One page proposals on the general topic of teaching and especially on
how professors capture and maintain student attention can be sent to

Presentations are welcomed from across disciplines and might cover
traditional means of gaining and keeping attention, such as close
reading techniques, analytical study, or observation techniques, or the
technology available for centering student attention on visual or
written texts.
