Call for Papers

We invite you to contribute to the Seventh Annual Fu Jen Medieval
Conference, entitled 'The Human Person and Nature in Medieval Literature',
which will take place in April of 2006 (dates to be finalised). The
conference will seek to explore the Medieval understanding of nature,
situated in the relationship between matter and form, body and soul,
creation and God. We are especially interested in papers that cross
disciplinary boundaries. Some areas that papers might address are:

· Nature, fallen and redeemed

· Unity and diversity in nature

· Nature as text and sign

· Nature and gender

Call for Essays: Military Dissent

PEACE REVIEW: A JOURNAL OF SOCIAL JUSTICE is an international journal
distributed in more than 50 nations. We seek essays on the above theme
for a special issue.

Dissent amongst those subject to military service around the world is
an ever increasing phenomenon today. Those subject to conscription as
well as those on active military service have dissented and resisted
the call to arms on a variety of levels in various nations.

Poetry

various topics related to poetry, poets, and specific poems of the
British medieval and Tudor eras, including Scottish, Welsh, and Irish
texts as well. Contributors will receive full credit for their work.
Deadlines are flexible and negotiable through spring semester 2006.

In light of the fact that Texas is preparing for the
impact of hurricane Rita, and in consideration of the
fact that Texas A&M University will be officially
closed on Friday, 23 September, we are extending the
deadline on our call for papers for the conference "A
Thousand Words: Visual Culture and the Humanities."
The new deadline is Monday, October 10, 2005. The call
for papers is as follows:

Food Writing of the Southwest and Mexico: Call for Papers

The deadline for abstracts for the Gender Panel at the SW/Texas Popular
Culture Conference in February is looming closer. If you haven't sent me
something then this is the time. Deadline is November 15, 2005. Any
topic of gender is welcomed.

Albq in February is a beautiful time with warmish days and crisp nights.
The hotel facility is downtown in the historic section and just a short
bus ride from old Albq and the stone and jewelry shops. For more
