Call for Contributors: I am seeking contributors for Icons of Hip-hop, a two-volume narrative reference collection to be published by Greenwood Press. This collection will consist of 10,000 word biographical essays on hip-hop's 24 most important artists. Some of the artists currently available to contributors include Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Lil Kim, Master P, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, and Ice Cube.

The Children’s Literature Society of the ALA seeks abstracts for two panels on children’s literature for the American Literature Association Conference to be held May 25-28, 2006, at The Hyatt Regency in San Francisco, CA.
With the location of this year’s conference in mind, The Children's Literature Society panels deal with exploring innovation and re-envisioning of narrative and gender in children's literature.
"Radical Change": Narrative Innovations in American Children's Literature
(dis)junctions: lost in translation
April 7-8, 2006
This panel consists of all topics surrounding Alfred Hitchcock and his films
and the effects of those films on movie-making since the sixties. Topics
include but are not limited to

4.changes in film theory/perceptions of film because of Hitchcock's work
