Green Letters 7: The Future of Ecocriticism

Green Letters, the journal of ASLE-UK (the Association for the Study of
Literature and the Environment), explores interdisciplinary interfaces
between humans and the natural and built environment. Articles are invited
for our spring 2005 edition focusing on 'ecocriticism'.
NEMLA (Northeast Modern Language Association) awards an annual prize to the best graduate student paper presented at any of the conventions sections. The winning paper, as determined by a committee of peers, is published in the NEMLA journal Modern Language Studies.
The submission deadline for the 2005 Graduate Student Caucus Paper Prize is December 16, 2004. Graduate Students who presented papers at the 2004 Convention in Pittsburgh are invited to send 20-25 page versions of those essays to Darcie Rives, preferably by email, rivesdd_at_yahoo.com, or by "snail mail" to Darcie Rives, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, 331 Andrews Hall, Lincoln, NE 68588-0333. Please address questions to rivesdd_at_yahoo.com.

Call for Papers
Portals: A Journal of Comparative Literature is a graduate student
journal published by the Comparative Literature Association of San
Francisco State University.
Portals invites original, critical essay submissions that explore
comparative literary topics across cultural, regional, linguistic, and
temporal boundaries.
Papers should be in English. All citations in foreign languages must
be clearly translated in the body of the text and properly cited.
Papers should be no longer than 25 pages in 12 point font, and should
include be properly formatted and documented in MLA style.

CFP: The History of Perversion, 1650-1850. Deadline for abstracts: Jan. 15th, 2005
Contributors are sought for a new book on 'The History of Perversion 1650-1850'. We specifically seek 300-word abstracts for articles within the boundaries of history of sexuality which examine so-called perversions; literary, historical fields and
interdisciplinary approaches welcome. Final essays of 10,000 words will be due May 15th, 2005. We anticipate a publication date of 2006.
