Paper proposals are sought which explore any of the various aspects of
the American modernist experience including, but not limited to: the
relationship of art and artist, the new woman, Pound's exhortation to
"make new," "the Greenwich Village revolt, the Stieglitz group, the
European expatriate scene, the art colonies of Taos and Santa Fe,
feminism, anarchism, the rise of literary communism and . . . the
Southern Renaissance."

The Photography Program at the Institute of Art Design & Technology, Dun Laoghaire in Dublin is pleased to announce that it will be holding an international conference on photography and globalization in June 2007. The aim of the conference is to bring together photographers, artists, curators and writers on the photographic image from any discipline to examine all aspects of photography's role in globalization.

The submissions should include the presenter's name, phone number, postal and

American Literature Association Conference Boston, May 24-27

In the broadest possible way this panel, organized by the Edith Wharton Society, seeks to explore the influence Wharton's work had on other writers and artists. Papers could be about Wharton as a character or historical figure appearing in the work of other artists (writers, painter, photographers, filmmakers), or they could be about revisions of Wharton's work, or about significant allusions to her work in the work of other writers and artists.
