For the 2021 Conference, SWPACA is going virtual! Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, we will be holding our annual conference completely online this year. We hope you will join us for exciting papers, discussions, and the experience you’ve come to expect from Southwest.

The International Conference on Art, Museums and Digital Cultures will bring together different scientific and creative perspectives on the crossovers between information technologies and the arts. How are museums, curators and the artists themselves responding to the opportunities, but also the risks, of the so-called “digital transformation”?
Recognising the complexity and plurality of digital cultures, the conference will discuss recent or ongoing research works in different geographies and cultural contexts.
We invite scholars, independent researchers, digital media specialists, curators and artists to submit proposals for a 15-minute in-person or online presentation, focusing on one or more of the following topics:

The West Chester University Poetry Center is excited to announce this Call for Presentations for C.R.A.F.T.: West Chester University’s Virtual Poetry and Creative Arts Festival, April 7-10, 2021.The theme for our inaugural gathering is The Healing Power of Empathy. Molly Peacock will be our Keynote Speaker. 

Australian Feminist Studies, a peer-reviewed journal published by Routledge/Taylor & Francis is seeking expressions of interest for contributions to a planned forum devoted to the topic of ‘New Feminist Research Ethics’.

We anticipate publishing wide-ranging sets of ideas that capture the current and emerging challenges and opportunities for feminist researchers.

Contributions may engage generally with questions concerning feminist research ethics or they may offer a reflection on a specific research project or activity.While the expectation is that contributions will be scholarly in orientation, less conventional provocations and manifestos are also welcome. All submissions will be peer-reviewed as per the journal’s policies.

Oral History Workshop

The workshop is designed for students, young scholars independent researchers and history, culture and tradition enthusiasts who would like to improve their academic skills, introduce oral history in their work, engage with oral tradition and also record and preserve unwritten stories.

The international journal, Hungarian Journal of English and American Studies (HJEAS) solicits papers on “Central and Eastern European Immigration to Canada” for a special issue to be published in 2022.

The special issue will address a broad range of topics related to Central and Eastern European immigration to Canada; therefore, we are looking for essays that examine the topic from a wide range of perspectives, including, but not limited to, migration studies, history, literature, cultural studies, film studies, travel writing studies, etc. There is no chronological limitation in terms of the time of migration and the term Central and Eastern Europe is used in the broadest possible sense, also including the Balkans and Russia.
