Seeking contributions for an anthology that explores live comedy audiences.=
The book will include contributions by both scholars and comedians, and wi=
ll focus on the dynamics of audience behaviour. The anthology will cover th=
emes including: cultural and historical differences in comedy audience prac=
tice; the architecture of the audience; the reception of 'low' versus 'high=
' and live versus televised comedy; the subjectivity of audience members an=
d the spread of affect; the two-way relationship between joker and listener=
; and the comedy club as a distinct spatial and emotional environment. Addi=
