Roundtable on Teaching American Indian Poetry

This is one of two panels at the Native American Literature Symposium--the
premiere Native Literature gathering--sponsored by the ASAIL Committee on
Pedagogy and Teaching. This particular roundtable will feature individual
scholars giving mini-presentations on teaching Native American poems.
Presentations can range from topics of courses to the use of secondary
sources to innovative approaches. I am especially interested in proposals
that pair two poems by different poets and/or that offer an actual hands-on
"lesson" for use in the classroom.

nation's leading James Purdy scholars for 15-20 minute presentations to
explore multiple facets of this major American author's dramatic works.

UK BURNEY SOCIETY CONFERENCE 2007
YOUNG RESEARCHERS PANEL

The Burney Society is seeking participants for the Young Researchers panel
at its conference to be held in Windsor, 6-7 July 2007. Undergraduate and
graduate students are invited to submit abstracts for 15-20 minute papers on
Frances Burney's Court Journals (1786-91) or any related subject. The panel
will consist of papers given by four young scholars and Professor Audrey
Bilger (Claremont McKenna College) will act as respondent. Papers will be
chosen by a panel headed by Fiona Ritchie (McGill University).

Papers are sought for a proposed panel for the National Women's Studies
Association Summer 2007 conference to be held in St. Charles, Illinois. If
selected, the panel will be part of the embedded conference sub-theme on
(Im)Migration and Mobility. The panel, tentatively titled, "Bridging the
Body Gap: Mobilizing Embodied Activism for Im(Migrant) Equity," seeks to
examine (im)migration with a particular emphasis on the body. In
particular, the panel seeks to interrogate how (im)migrant bodies are coded
as racialized bodies, 'alien' bodies, threatening bodies, 'illegal' bodies,
