Teaching Sex: In Public
This panel seeks papers that articulate pedagogies of sexuality in
the humanities, fine arts, and interpretive social
sciences. Especially welcome are papers that mix an understanding of
current methods and texts in the field with critical anecdotes about
classroom experiences.

"Edgar Allan Poe & The Juke-Box": Poe and Twentieth Century Poetry.
Poe and his poetic theories have continued to be a point of
engagement for twentieth-century poets, as witnessed by the recent
publication of the posthumous Elizabeth Bishop poem from which the
title of this panel is taken. This panel is calling for papers that
engage with any aspect of Poe's relation to poets and poetry of the
last century.

to do with any aspect of Poe's work with newspapers and magazines,
esp. papers engaging with recent scholarship that has addressed such
areas as authorship, literary nationalism, the culture of reprints,
copyright, mass production, marginalia, etc.

1650-1850'. We specifically seek articles within the boundaries of history
of sexuality which examine so-called sexual 'perversions'; this might
include any sexual behaviour which was considered perverse or 'abnormal' for
its time and would include certain heterosexual, homosexual, lesbian,
transgender, transvestite etc. practices; and why was such behaviour was
seen as 'abnormal', 'perverse' or threatening; subjects for discussion might
be considered include bestiality, flagellation, sex with children, fetishes,
sado-masochism etc.
