The Anthem Series on Exploitation and Industry in World Cinema incorporates a broad range of scholarship on filmmakers, genres, cycles and national cinemas, focusing on ways in which exploitation filmmaking and distribution subsidize riskier commercial or “art cinema” work. Titles in this series focus on a single exploitation filmmaker/producer/distributor, an exploitation genre/cycle or the exploitation component of a national cinema. The series considers new and fuller understandings of the interdependent development of exploitation, commercial and arthouse cinema as technology enables new cultures of audience reception.

Urzeitig: The Journal of Primeval Studies is devoted to the study of ancient ways of living and knowing, primarily related to the teachings of D. H. Lawrence. The journal aims to both criticize modernity, and to reinvigorate the old pagan ways, through the use of Lawrencian philosophy.

The 29th Annual Northern Plains Conference on Early British Literature will take place at the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, South Dakota, 22-23 April 2022. A conference known for its supportive and collegial atmosphere for teachers and scholars of Early British Literature, the organizers invite abstracts and panel or roundtable proposals on any of British literature before 1800. The conference theme this year is Kindred Communities. In the form of memoirs, autobiographies, diaries or correspondence, or given a literary spin as autofiction and biofiction, the experiences of East and South-East European women during wartimes and under the oppressive regimes of the twentieth century (a period laden with contrasts, which in the West was hailed as “acentury of women”, Rowbotham 1997, but also framed as an “age of testimony”, Felman and Laub 1992) have been surfacing in the past two decades. The transmission of these narratives followed sinuous paths, taking both verbal and non-verbal forms, relying on both “filial” and “affiliative” networks (Hirsch 2012), and coming from both female victims and female perpetrators (Schwab 2010).

College students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and/or other learning disabilities are frequently allowed to complete examinations and assignments under separate rules or even in a separate, distraction-reduced setting. For example, although separate room test accommodations are believed to provide students with equal access to testing and thereby improve performance, little experimental research has examined their effects on actual test/essay scores. Even less research and scholarship focus on the location of testing and the impact of testing centers on students with various documented disabilities.
