CFP: Writing the Masculine, or =93Textual Masculinity=94

This is an open call for submission proposals for the Nordic Journal of=20=

English Studies. We are putting together a special journal issue that=20
will focus on =91textual masculinity=92. This journal issue will focus =
on=20
the writing of the masculine, to see what specifically textual ways are=20=

used to produce and reproduce forms of maleness, masculinity, male=20
desire and male sexuality in female writing. The central objective of=20
the study is, however, to highlight and analyze how men are constructed=20=

Call for Papers

The Northern Plains Conference on Earlier British Literature welcomes
paper submissions on all aspects of British literature from the
beginnings to the Eighteenth Century.
This year's conference will be held at Minnesota State University
Moorhead, 20-21 April 2007.

Questions and paper abstracts (20-minute reading time) may be directed

submission deadline for the Spring issue to February 1, 2007.

contemporary British post-war queer theatre. The focus is on bi, trans, gay=

identities as represented on the British stage. Keeping in mind that queer=20
identities are fluid and always in a state of flux, defying definitions and=

binary oppositions, articles were invited which examine these identities as=
=20
represented in British drama since 1950.=20

Black lesbian theatre [Black in this anthology includes Asian]=20
Gay theatre=20

Panel proposals for "New Reading Interfaces," an MLA session sponsored
by the Association for Computers and the Humanities (Chicago, December
2007).

Description: This panel will address reading in the context of networked
and multimedia communication environments. Possible topics include text
visualizations, alternative interfaces, immersive or VR environments for
text. Proposals welcome from both practical (design, coding) and
theoretical perspectives.
