For publication in a volume devoted to the many fictional/ memoir
representations of the lynching of Emmett Till. Editors seek new papers on responses in
poetry by Langston Hughes ("Mississippiâ€"1955"), Gwendolyn Brooks ("A
Bronzeville Mother Loiters in Mississippi. Meanwhile, A Mississippi Mother Burns Bacon")
and Audre Lorde ("Afterimages"), in plays by James Baldwin (Blues for Mr.
Charlie) and Toni Morrison (Dreaming Emmett), and as well as in novels by Lewis
Nordan (Wolf Whistle) and Bebe Moore Campbell (Your Blues Ain’t Like Mine).
Commentary on William Bradford Huie’s Wolf Whistle essays and on memoir responses
such as Anne Moody’s Coming of Age in Mississippi or John Edgar Wideman’s

This is a call for contributions to the Hispanic American Literature Volume in

Contributors are sought to write entries on Hispanic American Literature for the *Encyclopedia of American Ethnic Literature,* a 3-volume set, to be published by Facts On File. Facts on File is a New York publisher of reference books for high school and college students (www.factsonfile.com).
Entries range from 600 to 1200 words; each contributor may write one or several entries.

plays, TV shows, concerts, sporting events, performances, exhibitions,
conferences and conventions, happenings, and so forth, for our September
2004 issue (which is normally published in mid-autumn). Reviews should be
approximately 2000-3500 words long and should follow the journal's format
guidelines below.
