Call for Papers: Inaugural issue of the Community Literacy Journal (for Fall
2006)
The peer-reviewed Community Literacy Journal seeks contributions for our
inaugural, Fall 2006 issue. We welcome submissions that address any social,
cultural, rhetorical, or institutional aspects of community literacy; we
particularly welcome co-authored pieces in collaboration with community
partners. Case studies of projects are also welcome.
Possible articles and approaches include, but are not limited to:
What are the broad, disciplinary implications and possibilities for emerging
community literacy initiatives at the programmatic and institutional levels?
The Marlowe Society of America solicits papers on any aspect of
Christopher Marlowe's plays or poetry (including performance-based
criticism) for an open-topic session to be held at the MLA Convention
(scheduled for New Orleans) in Dec. 2006. Send detailed abstracts or

This Study Day will be a slash-friendly forum for discussion of one of the
most vibrant sub-genres of fanfic. Proposals are invited for papers for
panel sessions on slash-related topics and controversies, including, but not
limited to, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter and real person
slash.
The Study Day will take place as part of Cultural eXchanges, a week long
series of events at the Faculty of Humanities, De Montfort University.
